The study committee convened to discuss the committee's charge from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Additionally, the Institute of Medicine invited the public to attend the two open sessions of this meeting that focused on the current methodologies used for biomarker qualification within the FDA and the various issues that the committee must consider when creating recommendations to the FDA. During these sessions, the Institute of Medicine welcomed individuals from the public to share relevant material with the committee.
