The second workshop in the Learning Healthcare System series, titled Judging the Evidence: Standards for Determining Clinical Effectiveness, was held on February 5, 2007 at the Keck Center of the National Academies in Washington, D.C. We extend our thanks to those involved for fostering an engaging discussion surrounding inconsistencies in evidence standards, variations in the evidence threshold in certain situations, and new forms of evidence that have recently appeared on the horizon and how they can be applied clinically.
