This brochure illustrates the gaps between drug and alcohol treatment providers and researchers and suggests ways to bridge them. 

It is based on a report of the Institute of Medicine's Committee on Community-Based Drug Treatment Research, which stresses the value of decreasing barriers and enhancing relationships between community-based treatment programs and the drug and alcohol abuse research community.  The report also provides practical solutions for how this can be achieved.
