Roundtable on Health Literacy Meeting 6-eHealth and Health Literacy

 The sixth meeting of the Roundtable on Health Literacy was the workshop on Health Literacy, eHealth, and Communication: Putting the Consumer First. This meeting took place on Monday, March 17th, from 9 to 5, in the Lecture room of the National Academies of Science, at 2100 C St. NW . 

GOAL: To obtain information on the current status, barriers, and steps to be taken to facilitate eHealth strategies that incorporate needs of populations with low health literacy and language barriers.

 

OBJECTIVES:  To organize presentations to address the following questions:

  1. What is the current status of communication technology, particularly electronic health records systems?
  2. What are the challenges of communication technology use for populations with low health literacy?
  3. What are strategies for increasing the benefit of these technologies for populations with low health literacy?
